igus to exhibit new dry-running solutions at SLAS 2014

igus will be displaying and demonstrating its new innovations in booth 1220 at the upcoming SLAS 2014 conference and exhibition, taking place at the San Diego Convention Center January 18-22nd.

East Providence, Rhode Island – January 6, 2014 – – igus will be presenting some of its latest innovations at the 3rd annual SLAS conference and exhibition, the flagship event of the SLAS, the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening. Bringing together thousands of professional scientists, researchers, academics, and government delegates looking to leverage laboratory technology and automation to drive results for their respective organizations, the event will host representatives from fields including assay development and screening; automation and high throughput technologies; micro and nanotechnology; molecular diagnostics; Informatics; and bio-analysis and drug target biology.

New products on display

In booth 1220, igus will present its new DryLin SLT and SLN linear axes, detectable and food-safe igubal spherical bearings, and E2 micro cable carriers from its Energy Chain Systems line of products.

Both the DryLin SLT and SLN linear systems are completely lubrication-free, low –profile guides with adjustable carriages. The SLT and SLN are available as manual or motor powered systems. The SLT system is a low-profile, side mounted lead screw configuration, while the SLN is a traditionally mounted system with adjustable clearance levels.

Also on display will be igubalspherical bearings, now available in detectable ‘E’ and ‘K’ materials. The self-aligning bearings can be found quickly in the case of breakage or system failure: even the smallest fragments can be detected and removed from sensitive material, including food and drug products using commercially available metal detection systems.

Other products on display will include iglide plastic plain bearings, a variety of DryLin linear slides and guide systems, and the E2 micro series Energy Chain, considered to be one of the world’s smallest cable carriers, perfect for small equipment and for use in tight spaces.

All igus products are self-lubricating, and run without the need for oils or greases. This is an important feature for medical and laboratory applications, as igus products keep the environment free of any contaminants. For more information, visit www.igus.com.
