Tree Brand Packaging Launches Coil Cradles for Steel Service Centers

Tree Brand Packaging, based in Charlotte, NC, has announced the addition of heavy-duty hardwood Coil Cradles to its range of specialty packaging for steel service centers.  According to Mike Drake, GM, Tree Brand’s Tennessee Division and a steel industry veteran, “Our Coil Cradles are designed and custom manufactured to safely and effectively handle ‘master steel coil’, and protect it from product damage.”  Tree Brand stated that enhanced safety – the ability to secure the multi-ton coils and keep them from rolling is a major benefit of its Coil Cradle packaging.  Eliminating contact with the abrasive materials on the floor also “maintains product integrity and reduces scrap,” Drake explained.

Tree Brand’s Coil Cradles are available in two sizes for service center coil handling and storage applications.  The small size Coil Cradles are: 3.5 inches wide; 6 inches tall; 40 inches long; and can carry up to 72 inch OD coil.  The large size Coil Cradles are: 5 inches wide; 6 inches tall; 38 – 40 inches long; and can carry up to 72 inch OD coil.  The large size Coil Cradles are designed to sit down into 6 x 8.2 steel channels within service center facilities.
